Monthly Meeting - November 18th  - Mark Sargent
International Parrot Convention

Please join us for our Monthly Meeting on November 18th at 2:30pm. Our Speaker this month is Mark Sargent. Mark has been an aviculturist for many years and he is a subject matter expert on the Pionus species. The focus of Mark’s presentation is the Ninth International Parrot Convention that was held last month on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands off the coast of Morocco. This convention is organized and hosted by the Loro Parque foundation and is held every four years. Loro Parque was founded in 1972 and opened with a 150 parrots. It has grown, and is now home to some 4000 parrots representing 350 species and sub-species, as well as many other animals. This parrot collection is the largest in the world and makes the park one of the main references in the study and conservation of these animals worldwide.

In addition, we will have our yearly election where we vote on our Officers and Board Member, and decide which organizations will receive a grant, using the money we raised at the May Bird Fair.

The meeting begins a 2:30pm at Glen Eden Pilot Park
Please bring a snack to share
